“Sally” offers so much variety musically- from lyrical beach tunes, to energetic cheers/ chants, to reflective ballads- there’s a moment for everyone to shine! Our kids even rose to the challenge of “3- part polyphony,” three independent lines of melody happening simultaneously. The director’s script has excellent suggestions for staging, while also leaving room for lots of creative choreography. Overall, this show provides students with the chance to be in an engaging, involved ensemble, where each group (Beach Kids, Surfers, and Cheerleaders) gets their moment in the spotlight. There are also a few “lead” roles that offer a challenge for more advanced actors. Together, the whole cast gets the opportunity to tell a story that holds interest, meaning, and relevance for people of all ages. I definitely recommend this one!
