SOLO 1
You can find me behind the scen’ry
Standing firm ’til I hear my cue
Moving platforms and bits of green’ry
Making sure nothing falls on you
You might imagine that my arms get pretty tired
And yes they do but I don’t mind
Cuz it’s all part of the magic
It’s much more than mundane
It’s all part of the magic
The magic of helping to entertain
SOLO 2
Nothing happens in utter darkness
So they need me to shed some light
Up I go with my bulbs and colors
Switching gels ’til I get it right
You might forget me while I’m up there on that ladder
But still I’m proud of what I do
SOLO 1 & 2
Cuz it’s all part of the magic
It’s much more than mundane
It’s all part of the magic
The magic of helping to entertain
ALL
When I was a little kid I never really knew
Being so behind the scenes is what I’d want to do
Most kids dream of being stars and hope for something more
But I take pride in what I do
Although it’s quite obscure
SOLO 3
I’m the one with the cloth and needle
Hemming pants ’til the last one’s fixed
Though some actors are never happy
It’s the audience I’ve transfixed
ALL
Although we never get to stand there in the spotlight
We know we’re part of every bow
Cuz it’s all part of the magic
It’s much more than mundane
It’s all part of the magic
The magic of helping to entertain
The magic of helping to entertain
The Song Kit includes the Vocal Track below, as well an Accompaniment Track which is the same orchestration without vocals that actors can perform along with.
